Ahh the time for fixed grins and lashings of bon homme is about to come crashing about our feet.  The summer has been . . .  and slipped away into autumn.  The weather this year has been very mixed with great extremes, so it has been difficult to plan holidays and activities.   In unpredictable years like this, it is easy to just let the time roll by but not achieve much.  This is when some judicious bargain searching could make for a much more spectacular end to the year.   Many of the adventure or experience day companies are ramping up their sales right now.  The pre christmas and black friday sales pitches are quite fantastic but you have to have your wits about you and recognise whether the offer you are looking at does represent a saving on the regular price, and will your intended recipient actually appreciate that day of air climbing in the east end of London, or glamping in an insulated roof tiled igloo in a field of several that looks like a giant chicken houses?  It can be so easy to fall into the trap of snapping up one of those timed bargain count downs that make you panic into buying before the hour runs out.  Look at the offfers carefully, weigh up the price and location and importantly, the small print.  Then snap up that bargain gift for a loved one.
