The Woes & Pitfalls Of Budget Airline Flights in Holiday Season

Ahh the holiday season is upon us.  Big Time.   I had rather an ordeal recently with my own flight out to join my pals in the Med.  I’ve flown over there many times in the last 20 years.  Very few times have really had much of a problem.  In my case I had booked the flight complete with my favourite seat each way, hold luggage, meet & greet parking and fast track through security back in November for a May trip.  Eventually my departure day arrived and I was at the airport early, food and drink purchased, I was sat with the million others when I realised my flight wasn’t listed on the board.  It turned out we needed to wait for new crew and change of plane, causing 1.5 hour delay taking off and landing the other side.  I didn’t worry to much as the trusty cab driver would not let my chum down by forgetting to pick kme up.  Would he?  Yes, in act he would.   So at 2.30 am when the airport was in sleep mode and the other cabs were retiring for the night, I was out there trying to ring my driver.  I had to take another cab having secured a good quote.  With Google maps on both phones we got up to my pal’s village in just an hour.  The holiday slid from bad to worse in a whisker, and I wonder if it would have been smoother if I’d used a hotel complex or different agent?!
