Overlooking Insurance Is Only Ever A Mistake Once!

There was a general chat over the coffee table the other week in my office.  Someone’s son had recently bought a very expensive watch – with an inheritance.  He came from the sort of family background that insured everything that wasn’t nailed down on the table!  So he insured it and than picked hiself up from the floor at the cost.  However, compared to the cost of the watch itself, the insurance was obviously only a trifling amount.  He very nearly had second thoughts – was going to ‘shop around’ but thankfully decided the shop’s own service offered a comprehenvise deal that was not too awful.

It is vey easy to leave out the subject of insurance – it’s one of those items in life that you desperately need when something goes worng on a family holiday or day out but so many folk never think about it from one year to the next.  The idea that ‘it won’t happen to me’ is nonsese these days as all sorts of things occur when they shouldn’t.  Travel insurance is a really difficult one to handle.  Most younger folk don’t see the point but that’s because they are probably less likely to fall ill abroad and probably are not diabetic or needing blood dialysis often at home.  Travel insurance is usually available as a free add on to a current or premoium bank account.  I have not paid for mine for 30 years – and because i’ve not had to claim for anything at all over these years, it has not cost me anything at all but it has been there.. . just in case!
